This is an incredibly rare and special Clare Valley Riesling - it's rich, dry and beautifully aged. We were lucky that the Mitchells let us bring some of their (precious and few) cases into the US. They only make 250 cases a year, and not every year.
On the nose it's toast and lemon curd, ginger and wet slate. And in the mouth the palate is generous and sweet-fruited with vibrancy and complexity all playing key roles; a long and luscious finish. This is not like any dry Riesling you've ever had.
You'll love it with shellfish, and the acidity of the wine also pairs well with oily fish like salmon.
